This page is used to file various informational releases the police department publishes.   The bulletins are dates and named in accordance with their content.   Bulletins publish such concerns as road closures.  Newsletters publish the department's newsletters that are emailed and faxed to numerous local businesses advising of crimes in Lake Placid so as to increase public awareness.    Many times our established news fax / email network warns of criminals that are actively preying upon businesses in the area.   Unsolved crimes are so named to designate published information on such events.  As a courtesy our web page may reflect unsolved crimes from other agencies in Highlands County if entry on the web page is requested by our neighboring agencies.   Press releases are releases sent to local newspapers.  If you are (local for faxes) (anywhere for emails) interested in getting on either the email list or the fax list contact Gloria at 863-699-3759.

The Lake Placid Police Department's participation in DEA's Pharmaceutical take back program on Saturday September 25, 2010, resulted in 350 pounds of unwanted old prescription medication being turned in in the Lake Placid area.   Old prescriptions are responsible for numerous deaths each year.   The medications will be destroyed.
