The Lake Placid Police Department has been proud to offer American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Classes since 2008. We have seven instructors and suitable traing equipment to conduct training for classes up to thirty students at once.
Funds that are received from these classes are placed into a donantion fund which is audited annually. Funds are used to purchase CPR training equipment and other equipment for the police department such as protective vests, crime scene equipment, and recently new 800 mhz radios.
Officers volunteer their time to teach these classes.
The classes are our way of helping the community obtain a valuable
life saving skill while
helping our department to be better equipped, thereby better serving our citizens in their
quest for a safe community.
Besides . . . we all find it fun and rewarding to teach these classes.
